Apologies for missing the last 2 week's posts...I know some of you are checking the blog regularly and like to see the upcoming events.
This week's happenings....
Art
On Tuesday afternoon we had an artist, Natalie, from Blank Canvass come into our class to teach us how to create graffiti art. I'll post some photos of the amazing work you started. We'll complete the artwork this week in class.
Science
On Wednesday afternoon we walked to the Parkdale Public Library to participate in a Water of the World workshop provided by Engineers Without Borders. Students created a water filter for a specific country and were given similar challenges and barriers that those countries would find themselves in, including education and economics. It opened up a dialogue about inequitable distribution of water, which we will continue to discuss in science this term.
SPIRIT WEEK STARTS TOMORROW!
We have a fun-filled, silly week ahead of us.
Monday - Backwards Clothing Day

Talent Show and Dance!
On Friday, the school will come together in the gym to watch our annual Talent Show! Over 40 acts have been rehearsing to present to you and I know you'll be an attentive audience and will give your support with positive cheers and clapping.
In the PM, we will have a dance....cost of the dance will be communicated during the week.
Creative Writing Celebration @ PCI
On Thursday afternoon, we will travel to PCI to share our creative writing. Students from Parkdale P.S., PCI and Guelph/Humber will read one of the pieces they've worked on this term during the creative writing workshops. Looking forward to seeing you share your writing!

We have been engaging in some free writing and word study in language. This week, you can select one of your free writing pieces to edit and submit for evaluation.
