Week of June 5th

First I MUST share the dance routine we learned last week!
In honour of the devastating forest fires in Fort McMurray, Alberta, the grade 7 & 8 students learned a traditional Albertan line-dance. Here's a short clip from their performance in the small gym last week:

Also, I found a way to share the grade 8 Confederation Raps. I've imported them into iMovie and created a sing-along version!!! I'm sure you're as excited as I am!
I'll post 2 this week and the other 2 next week. Music credits to come -- please tell me the song you used and artist's name and I'll post it.

Field Trip Thursday to Toronto Botanical Gardens
Please bring in your permission forms and $5 for this trip. It will take place in the AM ONLY on Thursday. Please bring a packed lunch in case we arrive back to school late.
We will be conducting some Water Quality tests on this trip to wrap up our Science unit.

Language
Egghead - Your movie poster for the book Egghead is due on Thursday afternoon. You will have 3 periods in class to work on it this week but your final draft is due Thursday with the following questions answered about your poster:

After creating your poster for the movie version of “Egghead” answer the following questions.

 1. Which design scheme did you choose – Z-pattern or Rule of Thirds? Explain how your poster exhibits it. (3 marks)

 2. Who is your target audience? What did you include in your poster to appeal to this target audience? (3 marks)

 3. How does your poster tell about the story and characters? (2 marks)

 4. Did you keep the title “Egghead” or change it? Explain your decision. (2 marks)

We will complete some "Problems of the Week" on measurement and probability 

Dance

You will have 2 periods to rehearse your group's line dance this week. Performances will take place Wednesday afternoon!

Art

We will continue with our fingerprint artwork this week.
