We said goodbye to a classmate. We wish her all the best at her new school!
We incorporated pumpkins into our measurement unit. We looked at size (circumference, radius), mass, volume, number of seeds, "rollability", and number of ribs. We also graphed our data...more pics of that next week. It was messy and fun!

I ran the Toronto Waterfront 5k race and improved my time by 5minutes! I'm pretty happy with that one!
We also welcomed a Teacher Candidate from University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Mr. Jason Thai will begin his teaching next week!

Math
We will be wrapping up our unit on measurement. A unit test will be scheduled soon--probably next Monday.
Language
We looked at the features and techniques used in political cartoons in October.
Last week, independent summaries were submitted for evaluation.
This week, we will continue to prepare for the Remembrance Day Assembly which includes some dramatic reading.
Science
Cell labs were due on Friday...still waiting for a few to be submitted.
This week we'll review the parts of the cell and functions of the organelles. We'll play Jeopardy using the questions you created. A science unit test will be scheduled soon.
Geography
Grade 7: we will be wrapping up our Landforms unit--will schedule a unit test soon!
Grade 8: we will move forward on our unit to Urban and Rural population
